Shamsul Hoque, it started its journey with alittle outpatient department, at Konia, Gazipur which over the years has became a powerful prestigious hospital and research complex – TMMC Hospital, with 500 bedded multidisciplinary hospital complex – has been recognized nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence for heart diseases and research.
To maintain the reputation of TMMC Medical Centre within the field of upper education and research and to stay within the forefront of health care services, technology and education – increasing the necessity for highly motivated professionally competent manpower for the health sector can hardly be emphasized.
it’s during this context, the founder chairman decided to determine Tairunnessa Memorial Medical College and develop it as a centre of excellence, so on demonstrate a high standard of graduate education in Medicine, so badly needed within the country. The chairman also resolved to call the school after his mother, late Tairunnessa, an excellent social reformer.

The present campus of the school is found , 9 KM from The Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, at Konia of Gazipur City ( near Boardbazar ), the medical college, including the hospital, stands on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway-just outside the capital city.
